At the emerging trend of dramatic global crisis, pandemics and pressure of predicaments, policymakers are compelled to step back and re-define their TOR in "development". Otherwise, noble development goals of a nation could be achieved or encouraged by understanding the roots of moral principles, ethical codes and value systems that led many Asian countries sustainably flourish natural resources for generations. Especially, when the existing systems adhere to a heritage witnesses for excellent unparalleled creativity, ingenuity and prosperity as stated in the past records of Sri Lankan Chronicles.  As such, aim of this course is to provide the students with wider understanding of sustainable management stance of Sri Lankans i.e. historical records of biodiversity conservation, ingenuity of water managements, tools of building construction and heritage managements that had maintained prosperity of our nation between the generations. The cause will enable the students to critically analyze, the sustainable system strategies before the colonial era and the causes of system collapsed during the post-colonial period, especially during the last five decade. The course will facilitate the students to open up green avenues for effective utilization of natural resources when achieving sustainable development goals.
