SS41103 Soil Ecosystem & Dynamics of Organic Matter

SS41103 is a 1 credit course offered by the Department of Soil Science in the 4th year. This is a compulsory course for final year Soil Science students enrolled in the BSc Hons in Agricultural Technology & Management program.

The aims of this course are to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of theory and skills for applications on: functions of ecosystems and concept of energy flow through food chains and webs; soil ecosystem, food web and microbial biomass; formation, nature and dynamics of soil organic matter, managing SOM and carbon sequestration in soil; concept and application of nutrient cycles in decomposition and availability of plant nutrients.
