The Introductory Plant Pathology course is offered to provide students the opportunity to acquire knowledge related to contemporary themes in the area of plant pathology with the following course objectives.
To understand basic principles and concepts in plant pathology and to define plant pathological terms
To describe key morphological and functional features of fungi, bacteria, viruses, and other plant pathogens
To understand factors involved and phases in disease development, host-pathogen interaction and epidemiological aspects of plant diseases
To understand underlying principles and methods used for the management of plant diseases caused by the above pathogens
