This course will give an overview of the physiological requirements and functions of protein, energy, and the major vitamins and minerals that are determinants of health and diseases in human populations.

The objective of this course is to make students identify a given research problem, and to implement the research project according to the research plan and ethics, and finally to propose recommendations for potential applications.

Due to explosion of population growth, globalization of economy and technological outburst, natural resources are being heavily utilized, reduced and polluted creating number of conflicts for all living beings in the world. Under the present trend of economic development, global extraction and consumption of natural resources will continue to increase dramatically. Therefore, we all are compelled to learn about the natural resources and armed with the knowledge, technologies and skills to utilize natural resources in an effective and sustainable way to minimize the  environmental burdens on all living beings. Therefore this course module provide the students for wider understanding of natural resources, their effective utilization principles under the Sri Lankan contest.

This is compulsory Two credit course module for the Degree Program Bachelor of Science in Green Technology for Semester 1-1
